Disney ABC Television Group VP - Multiplatform Measurement in New York, New York

The Vice President, Multiplatform Measurement for the ABC Owned Television Station group will manage a central team providing a suite of research and analytics for all division and station-level teams, including content, product, sales and newsroom stakeholders.

This executive will be at the center of ABC OTV’s future success, with a full understanding of OTV’s multiplatform audience, driving content, revenue and product optimization. They will work directly with the General Managers of ABC OTV and other businesses within the Disney | ABC Television Group and TWDC to drive collective growth, providing strategic guidance and actionable insights across all areas of our business.

Responsibilities :

  • Champion data and analytics with a central source of truth that that drive multi-platform content, product and platform optimization as well as accountability across the organization

  • Direct and manage team of analysts and researchers across digital analytics, consumer insights, marketing research, television research and sales performance

  • Identify effective and efficient approaches to operations and processes throughout the organization

  • Manage relationships with key measurement vendors

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a strong leadership team; provide guidance and coaching to maximize their performance and accelerate their professional growth.

  • Execute all corporate policies/objectives while maintaining the highest level of ethics and industry standards.

  • Establish and maintain an atmosphere that promotes open communication, respect for others and excellence

  • Collaborate with other parts of ABC OTV, the Disney ABC Television Group and The Walt Disney Company to advance the group’s interests and leverage the group’s assets

Basic Qualifications :

  • Extensive television and/or digital media research experience, including significant exposure to content, product and ad sales research.

  • An in-depth knowledge of Nielsen & comScore Linear and Digital syndicated product offerings and a sophisticated understanding of the challenges facing comprehensive audience measurement.

  • Excellent visualization and storytelling skills to be able to effectively communicate data insights in easy to understand and actionable manner

  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and keep ahead of industry trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams whose expertise spurs innovation and delivers actionable business insights.

  • Established relationships across the research and analytics industry, including vendors

  • A leadership approach that fosters collaboration and innovation

  • Ability to recognize, create and communicate priorities, strategies as well as market opportunities and challenges to drive growth and performance improvement

  • Ability to effectively lead and manage in a dynamic and challenging environment

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with, or deep knowledge of, local broadcast station research and the trends, technology, etc. shaping the station industry’s future (ATSC 3.0, etc.).

Required Education :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education :

MBA or Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline preferred.
